This study aims to analyses the value of motivation and imagination in someone who is affected by locked syndrome without being accompanied by anyone. The problem in this study was that Jane almost gave up because her illness did not go away, Happiness with her family suddenly disappeared because Jean had a locked or paralyzed syndrome and the imagination that was in Jean's mind looked real and as if the imagination was alive again. This research uses a research method. qualitative. Where the author uses qualitative methods to analyses someone who is struggling to recover from his illness, namely locked or paralyzed syndrome by using the concepts of motivation and imagination in the novel The diving Bell the butterfly by Jean Dominique Bauby qualitative research refers to defining the meaning of the concept and title description. Self-motivation exists as a result of self-encouragement, as a result of a desire that he fulfils. Moreover, if this desire is really desired or aspired to, then any struggle will still be successful. Plus, we really like these activities, so we are more motivated. People who like to create works require not only motivation but also imagination. Remember moments from events or incidents with friends, family, or others. Reality exists only in one's own mind. Imagination in literature can also be translated into whatever the author wants today and in the future.
