Speech Acts Of Motivation By Staccey Bess - A Teacher - In The Movie Beyond The Blackboard

This study discusses a film by Jeff Bleckner which tells the story of a teacher who gives motivation to his students in the class who come from homeless children. This study discusses the qualitative approach described by the observed phenomena, where the data are taken from the beyond the blackboard film documentation in the form of speech and scenes from the main role of Stacey Bess. The main data is an expression from Stacey Bess which contains motivation consisting of the thirty sentences Besides that the main data is also in the form of a conversation which is specifically analyzed in more detail in specific acts Data is collected by performing several steps. Watching movies, finding information about the teacher‟s role in motivating. With the results of this study, it can be found that there are five teacher roles that are applied, namely assertive, directive, communicative, expressive, declarative and using extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation to connected several theory concepts and definitions.
